Global Citizens Club Sends Supplies to Jamaica

Many thanks to Dee Bowers, a teacher at Heritage Middle, for delivering school supplies collected by the Global Citizens Club(GCC) to a school for hearing impaired children in Jamaica. Ms. Bowers is fluent in American Sign Language and enjoyed communicating with students and staff during her week-long stay in early January 2016.  In addition to teaching, Ms. Bowers is also a photographer. The purpose of her visit to Jamaica was to photograph students and staff at three residential schools for the deaf.  The photographs of staff members were used for ID badges.  The students had not had individual school pictures taken for five years, so Ms. Bowers was elated to provide that service for them.  Ms. Bowers also stated, “I was thrilled to deliver a suitcase full of school supplies donated by the GCC.  The schools were grateful for the supplies and sent their heartfelt thanks.”
